THE LWML MEETING…in September will be held on Tuesday, September 7, because of the Labor Day holiday. Women are invited to come to the school at 7:00 PM and participate (observe) in an AED/CPR demonstration. A training session will be held for members who would like to learn these life-saving skills.
AED AND CPR TRAINING…will be given in the school on September 7 at 7:00 PM. Women of the congregation are especially invited along with our ushers and officers who missed the last training session.
WOMEN'S CHOIR…rehearsals will begin Wednesday, September 8, from 6:00 - 7:00 PM in the church choir room. Rehearsals will be held the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of each month. New and returning members are welcome. Ryan Luhrs, director.

WOMEN'S BIBLE STUDY…on "Lies Women Believe and the Truth That Sets Them Free" by Nancy Leigh Demoss will start September 10 at 7:00 PM in the Schoenfeld home. The group will meet twice a month. Please let Janice Schoenfeld know if you plan to be part of this Bible study group as soon as possible.
RALLY DAY…will be a great celebration for our church family on Sunday, September 12. A special outdoor service will be held at 10:30 AM under the tents. There will be NO 8:00 AM service that day in hopes that we all can gather together in worship. Everyone is encouraged to come enjoy the service, dinner, auction, kids games, bakes sale, and fellowship. Sunday School will meet at 9:15 AM. Join the Praise Band for pre-service music at 9:45 AM.
THE ACTION! AUCTION…One more week until our 3rd Annual Action Auction! We raised over $3,200 last year and we hope to increase that amount this year. We are still taking donations of gift cards, gift baskets, actions, baked goods, and craft items. Donation forms can be filled out and returned to the box in the narthex. Items for donation can be brought to the church office. Baked items can be dropped off at the Fellowship Hall before the church service on Sunday. All donations and donation forms should be turned in by Thursday, September 9. If you have any questions please contact Laura Heuer at 320-543-2589. All proceeds go to our St. James Benevolence Fund.
A CATERED ROAST BEEF DINNER…will return as a part of our Rally Day celebration on September 12. Come enjoy the delicious roast beef with potatoes, gravy, vegetable, salads, desserts, and beverage. Ticket prices will be $8 for adults, $5 for ages 4-10 with ages 3 and under FREE.
CUPCAKES…are needed for desserts at the Rally Day dinner on Sunday, September 12. Please sign the donation sheet on the narthex podium, if you will be able to supply a dozen cupcakes.
TO LIVE IS CHRIST…is an in-depth study of the life and ministry of Paul, the Apostle, to the Gentiles. Join the Women's Bible Study group as they study Paul's unflagging faith and undying devotion even through trials. The Wednesday evening group will meet starting Wednesday, September 15 at 7:00 PM in the school conference room. A Tuesday morning group will start on Tuesday, September 14 at 9:00 AM, if there is enough interest. The fee for the workbook is approximately $15 with funds available for those who need it. HOW WOULD YOU LIKE…to be instrumental in changing for the better the welfare of another human being for the rest of their life on earth and for all eternity? On September 26th at 6:30 PM here at St. James we will begin the "I Have Good News for You" class. Some people you know may never have another opportunity to get right with God - this class could change their lives. Invite and bring as many as you can. If you don't, who will?
START STUDYING…your Bible now to be prepared for Bible Jeopardy at St. James Night coming October 13 this fall. Hayrides will again be given and a delicious Mexican supper served. Save the date!!!

A DAY OF GOLF…at Wild Marsh Golf Course in Buffalo on September 16 will support the work of Love Inc-Heartland. Registration forms must be sent to Love Inc., PO Box 143, Delano, MN 55328 by September 9. The entry fee of $100 includes Green Fee, Cart, Dinner, and a cap or T-shirt. Forms may be found on the office entry bulletin board.

A VOLUNTEER OR TWO…are needed to mow the lawn for the month of September. Most years, the grass has slowed down by the time school starts. However, this year we will need someone to help out. Please contact Linda or the church office, if you are interested.
SUNDAY SCHOOL…Teachers are needed in the Nursery and Kindergarten Departments. You can choose to teach every other month in the Nursery or let us know what type of schedule would work best for you. Please contact Kathy Stillwell or Randy Hatcher for more information.
MEALS-ON-WHEELS…driver needed for the first Friday of each month (only once a month). This is a needed service for approximately 8 shut-ins in our area. Can you help them by picking up the meals at the Care Center and delivering them to their homes? If so, please contact Tom Krohn or the church office.

OUR BENEVOLENCE FUND…helps those in need. The congregation is encouraged to support this ministry by placing a donation in the box provided in the narthex. Committee members are available in the church office every Thursday afternoon to receive and consider requests.
