As each happy Christmas
Dawns on earth again,
Comes the holy Christ Child
To the hearts of men.

Welcome to one of the busiest months of the entire school year! The students are already preparing for their Christmas programs which are coming quickly. Grades K-4 will present their program on Sunday, December 18; at 2:00 p.m. Grades 5-8 will lead us in worship on Wednesday, December 21, at both the 1:30 and 7:00 services. Please plan now to worship our Newborn King with us!

Following our programs on Sunday, Dec. 18 and the 7:00 service on Wednesday, Dec. 21 stop by the church office to purchase some homemade holiday goodies. Donations of Christmas baked items will be accepted. Please contact Julie Drusch or Laura Heuer for more information.

Miss Jenny Koch finished her student teaching with the first graders and Mrs. Chaney on November 18. It was a pleasure having a former student share her talents with us. May God continue to bless her as she finishes college and begins her teaching career.

Grades 1 & 2 had an in-school field trip this past month. The Minnesota Landscape Arboretum came to us! A presentation was made to both classes on flowering bulbs. The students got to use their senses in comparing different types of bulbs and then took a tulip bulb apart to discover all the little “baby” tulips. A second grader remarked, “Isn’t God smart!” They were each taught how to plant bulbs and then planted a Paperwhite bulb which is native to Israel and won’t grow here in MN except inside. Now the students are waiting anxiously and making observations as the plant begins to grow!

Volleyball wound up the season with tournament play at Lutheran High. The team earned consolation championship! Congratulations!

Our annual project night was a success with children and parents making a variety of items. Even though there were beads, paper, buttons, and glue everywhere, it was fun to see everyone working together and having a good time.

Congratulations to seventh graders Estera Nyquist and Elise Linder for their winning posters in the Lion’s “Children Know Peace” poster contest. Only images could be used, no words or numbers. Their posters will go on to compete at the district level. Well done!

Captive Free a Christian singing group, will be here Friday, December 9 at 1:30 PM to perform songs for our students. All members of the congregation are welcome.

Christmas and cookie dough sales are finished! The students did another great job! Thanks to all of you who purchased from the kids. Robert Heuer, in first grade, won the giant sized Rice Krispie bar for selling the most cookie dough. Way to go, Robert!

Enters with His blessing
Into ev’ry home,
Guides and guards our footsteps,
As we go and come.
All unknown, beside me
He will ever stand
And will safely lead me
With His own right hand.

Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year!

The teachers and staff would like to take this chance to say thank you for all your time, your talents, your gifts, and your prayers that you offer to our school. We could not be the great school we are without your help. May God bless you with a blessed Christmas and a Joy-filled New Year!
